This paper describes a general over-view of the building research activities throughout Japan. There are very complicated interconnections inside the building research field.
The Research Planning Group of the Building Research Institute referred to below has endeavored to clarify these complex interconnections and it has been the first attempt to do so in this country.
This paper does not, of course, present a complete description of the interconnection, but I believe it must be important for both the Japanese and the foreign research workers.
The Building Research Institute extends its thanks to Miss K. Kimura, Miss Y. Tsukiji and Miss Y. Ohmoto who assisted in the translation from Japanese to English.
