Proposed Color Ranges for Interiors.

M.Inui; March, 1967. 18p.

Abstract

The use of a standard color range for buildings is now recognized as an essential aspect of color design. It is only in this way that the fully adequate technique of the color design can be established.

This paper describes three kinds of color ranges for interiors that are based upon practical color data.

The first of them consists of 120 colors which are selected from colors which take precedence in frequency among existing colors used for decorating building interiors. The second has 123 colors which are also selected from the same data but excludes some colors similar to each other though their frequency is high and includes some dissimilar ones of lower frequency. The third, having 64 colors which are chosen from colors of interior materials on the market, is specially for interior materials.
